What we do today

Small habits, multiplied across everything we ship.

None of this is exotic. It is a series of unglamorous decisions, made consistently, that keep our footprint far below what a traditional office-first firm consumes.

Eco lighting in our offices

Our workspace runs on efficient LED eco lighting — daylight-first scheduling, motion-aware rooms, and lights that are simply off when nobody is there.

Remote-first operations

Most of our work happens from home offices. That means less commuting, a smaller leased footprint, and far fewer daily-driving emissions.

Lean, efficient software

Right-sized infrastructure and code that does more with less compute. Efficient software is not just cheaper to run — it burns less energy for every request it serves.

Paperless by default

Proposals, agreements, invoices, and documentation are digital-first with e-signatures. We print only what the law requires.

Hardware that lasts

We repair before we replace, keep machines in service for years, and use certified electronics recycling at end of life — never a drawer of dead devices.

Cloud, used carefully

We run on shared cloud infrastructure that is utilized efficiently instead of idle dedicated servers, choosing the smaller footprint wherever the work allows.

A note from our founder

“We built this company to make work feel lighter — for the people who use our software, and for the planet it runs on.”

I started Hermida Technologies because I believe good engineering is a quiet form of kindness. Lean systems, honest pricing, and a small footprint aren’t marketing lines — they’re how a small team does right by the world while doing great work for clients. Every efficient line of code, every light we leave off, and every machine we keep alive a little longer is part of the same idea: take what you need, and be gentle with the rest.

We are a small Florida firm, and we would rather under-promise than over-decorate. Every claim on this page reflects something we actually do today. Where we cannot yet measure something precisely, we say so instead of inventing a number.

Sustainability is an ongoing practice, not a finish line. Here is what we are actively working toward.

  • Hosting workloads in lower-carbon cloud regions wherever practical.

  • Publishing a measured annual footprint summary, beginning with our 2027 review.

  • A certified e-waste recycling partnership for every piece of end-of-life hardware.

  • Carbon-aware scheduling for heavy compute jobs — running work when the grid is cleanest.
